Today is International Day of Light 2020, with one of the major goals of the day to improve public understanding of how ‘light & light based technologies touch the daily lives of everybody and are central to the future development of the global society’.

At The Light Lab we have seen a huge development in the unique design and approach to public realm lighting projects that we’ve been involved with over the last few years – with a growing focus on how light in public spaces can create an observation and social commentary and also affect the mood and wellbeing of the general public.

Some examples of recent projects include our Spectraglass digital sky installation at Penn Station NYC in collaboration with artists miriamandtom, alongside other projects such as Bobby Moore Bridge, Wembley Park, Kings Cross Tunnel

Grand Central in Birmingham & collaborations with artist Michael Pinsky at Hull Tidal Barrier & I’m Laughing at Clouds
