Union 2

The Light Lab were specialist lighting contractors for the custom fabrication, and installation of a dynamic Halo feature wall at Union 2, Manchester — a co-living space by Vita within the St John’s Development.
Based on the lighting design and concept by Artin. the installation features 50 bespoke Ø400mm Halo rings, each fitted with 24VDC RGBW LEDs and individually controllable for precise colour and movement effects.
The Halos are wall-mounted in rows of five on sleek black wall panels, creating a striking feature wall within the communal areas.

The installation is fully programmable via a Madrix controller, enabling an endless variety of lighting sequences and dynamic displays that transform the space into an immersive visual experience. This project marks another successful collaboration with lighting designers Artin, with whom we’ve now delivered several projects across Manchester.

Their continued trust in our expertise in fabricating bespoke lighting features has allowed us to bring a number of ambitious concepts to life — including this latest installation, which forms the second major feature we’ve created for the Union building.
