Bankside Yards

The Light Lab fabricated bespoke Glowscreen light boxes at Southwark Street Bridge, as part of the new NATIVE LANDS, LLC development at Bankside Yards, with design by Tiller Studio and imagery commissioned by Identity Studio.
Glowscreen is a bespoke illuminated fabric tension system, set across a lightweight frame, with a versatile digital fabric printing process to ensure maximum luminosity – with the fittings on this project being specially customised to suit an exterior application – including reinforced fabric and an additional acrylic frame to cover the fabric and protect the artwork from external elements.
Designed to showcase custom artwork, the first local artist to exhibit is Peter Medlicott aka Sola is “a British light artist whose light painting work is created in camera using a range of LED lights to make temporary light forms directly onto the image with no tricks or special effects”.
